Frick/Marry/Kill; Kenyon Buildings

In light of the housing lottery, the construction (cough Asbestos cough), and the apparent lack of good weather– people are really spending more time thinking about, looking at, and existing inside Kenyon buildings. They’re one of the main ways the college controls and patrols us– and in that way they both literally and figuratively surround us. Does this make sense? What I’m saying?

Anyway, I can’t stop playing this game with people. The time honored tradition of playing FMK with people has evolved into places and things. This is a fun, interactive Thrill post so be sure to bring this up at Peirce, the non-silent study spaces in the libraryand maybe– I don’t know– Rosse? Is that where people hang out?? I kind of got carried away with this, but I also had fun– who even cares anymore you know.

Kenyon College Releases Plans to Dig a Hole into the Earth and Then Fill it Up Again This is Not Satire

Screen Shot 2017-11-27 at 4.39.53 PM

Today’s “Campus Progress Update” offered a comprehensive list of updates regarding the school’s construction status. I don’t really care about most of it because I will be escaping this hill before the majority of this construction occurs/affects me but….

They’re digging a hole into the ground. And then they’re just going to fill it back up again.

The direct quote from Kenyon News Digest reads:

“Construction crews will open a 50-square-foot hole in the southwest corner of the lot, from the new access road to the sidewalk that leads to Horvitz Hall. The crews will be testing the best ways to dig into the soil and rock to prepare for future work on the West Quad parking garage. After the test, the hole will be filled in and covered with concrete to restore the parking spaces for use in the second semester.”

You heard it here first– the very first KENYON HOLE (patent pending) will be gracing our campus so very soon. The only thing more exciting than this upcoming event is when Lance Bass visited and that is a stretch at this point.
