It’s Spring Break y’all, it’s the American Dream. We are taking a pause and will resume posting when classes are back in session. So get your sunscreen and lay out by the pool, or just hole up for two weeks to watch the new season of House of Cards, and we will welcome you back when break is over.

The Lead Story: Season 2 of Netflix’s House of Cards came out early Friday morning. If you’re looking for hard news, there’s plenty after the jump. In the world of fake political drama, however, House of Cards gave viewers plenty to talk about. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click here (not a spoiler). Here’s a recap of episode 1 “Hunt or be hunted.” Fans should also check out these slow-mo House of Card Instagram vids. Or this piece on why you should watch the original British version of the show. According Variety, at least 15% of Netflix subscribers watched the first episode on Friday. That’s a ton of people. Again, real news after the jump folks.

Good morning! Here’s what you missed over the weekend:
The Lead Story: The Olympics are here! This year’s Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, got underway on Friday. So far the United States has already taken home the gold (well, once so far) and Great Britain won its first medal on snow (as opposed to ice). The Olympics haven’t been all triumph, though. American figure skater Ashley Wagner called bullsh*t on scores that kicked her off the medal stand. At least she didn’t have to participate in Sochi’s newest event: door breaking.
A week and a half to go before Spring break, get that paper done, study for that exam and just power through.
Uphill: Kenyon Unique — If you don’t know, Kenyon Unique is a lecture series that started this year that features Kenyon Professors. This weekend it will feature P.F. Kluge and I could not be more excited. As someone who has gotten to enjoy his off-the-cuff remarks for the last 2 years, I can guarantee this is going to be amazing. If you decide not to go at least reconsider based on this poster he deemed “bad-ass” and something the Bookstore should “keep up forever.”
