The Monday Catchup

Romney Bus

Did you know that Mitt Romney fills up his own campaign bus?

Good morning! Here’s what you missed while you were entertaining your parents.

The Lead Story: I’m sure you’ve heard of battleground states, but what about battleground counties? According to a new analysis by the Associated Press, what may decide the election are the 106 counties that voted for President Bush in 2004 and switched to President Obama in ’08. Though Knox County is not one of the 106 (it went to McCain and Bush before that), Ohio is still a winner take all state! So your vote is still more important than most Americans’, just not as important as the people living in Hamilton County (outside Cincinnati).

Everything Else:

Despite his worst season ever, including a dismal performance in the A.L.C.S., the New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez is owning up to his faults. Don’t worry A-Rod, you’re stuck with the Yankees because they’re the only one who can afford your titanic contract.

The latest WSJ/NBC poll finds the Presidential race tied. Guess all that money didn’t do anything!

A shooter at a mall in Brookfield, Wis. has killed three people and injured four more. The shooter was found dead in the mall.

By now you may have seen the video of Rev. Phil Snider, a Missouri pastor who gave a speech on gay rights. Here’s what he has to say about his speech’s success.

The Long Read: How the CIA used a fake science fiction film to sneak six Americans out of revolutionary Iran. The declassified story that became Ben Affleck’s Argo.

The Weather: This will will be a lot like last week. The weather will be autumnal, but there will be showers, most likely on Monday and Tuesday. Expect highs in the low 70s! Bet you wish the heat wasn’t turned on.
